Every plan is the whole product. Monthly, annual, and lifetime unlock the same Caxton: every feature, all updates while the license is active (lifetime: forever), priority support. The only thing you are choosing is how to pay.

What a license actually buys is the difference from read-only mode. Unlicensed (trial ended, subscription lapsed), Caxton still opens, scrolls, searches, filters, and copies from any file at full speed. A license turns on changing things: cell edits, sorting, dedupe, fill, find & replace, and saving the result.

Questions people actually ask

Is Caxton only for huge files?

No. It is built for multi-gigabyte scale, but it is a full CSV editor and text editor at any size, and plenty of people use it daily for ordinary files. A 4 KB config opens the same way a 10 GB log does; the big-file engineering just means small files never wait.

What happens when the trial ends?

Caxton switches to read-only. Nothing uninstalls, nothing locks you out of your data: you can still open, scroll, search, filter, copy, and extract from any file. Editing resumes the moment you activate a license.

What if my subscription lapses?

Same read-only mode, same promise: your files are never held hostage. Resubscribe and editing picks up where it left off. Lifetime licenses never lapse.

How many Macs can I use?

Each license activates on up to 3 Macs. Deactivate a seat any time from Caxton ▸ License…, and moving to a new machine takes a minute.

I lost my license key.

Retrieve it any time at app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders: enter the email you bought with and a sign-in link arrives with your order history and keys. The same link lives in Caxton ▸ License… and on the support page.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The app is fully local. Subscriptions revalidate quietly about once a day and keep working for 30 days without any contact with the licensing server; lifetime licenses never need the network again after activation.

Refunds?

If Caxton isn't working out, email hello@caxton.app within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. No forms, no interrogation.

Who processes payments?

Lemon Squeezy, as merchant of record: they handle checkout, receipts, and sales tax/VAT worldwide. We never see your card details.
